3×10 - “Something Nice Back Home” - Review

Well then, that was…ok? Yes, ok is a good word for it. I think with so many Jack-centric episodes, they just seem a little bland at times. With him essentially being the main character of the show, and the fact we know he survives to leave the island, there didn’t seem to be too much point to the surgery.

But still, I was actually pleased to see Jack and Kate playing happy families. It didn’t take me long to figure out where these scenes slotted into the overall timeline, obviously the scenes we see in the Season 3 finale happen after this episode, and we get to see what starts the breakdown of Jack.

There were two things that surprised me in this episode. The first was to see Keamy and Co still alive. How did that happen? I hope there is a good reason for this. Last week we saw Smokey being the most destructive we’ve ever seen, yet it just roughed them up a bit?

The other surprise was to see Christian Shepherd. I was expecting him in the flash-forward, but not on the island. To see him holding Aaron too, seems to suggest that they are not intangible ghosts, they can actually interact with things on the island.

So overall a little bit of a filler episode, and suffers because the quality of previous episodes has been so high, and because we know there are so few episodes this season than previous seasons we expect every one of them to be all guns blazing.
