Season 3 ends with a bang!

Ok first of all before I go on I’ll apologise for a lack of a review for “Greatest Hits” and the finalĂ©, “Through the Looking Glass”. “Greatest Hits” for me was the weakest episode in a long while and I wasn’t really motivated to talk about it much. As for the final episodes, there’s just too much to talk about! So instead of a proper review just a few opinions here. Before watching these episodes I was quite dissapointed to hear there would be 48 more episodes of Lost. I wanted one more season to wrap things up, it felt right. Any more and it’d go the way of 24 and X-Files, too much filler material to milk the franchise for money. Now? Just take a look at the forums. I thought there were plenty of questions and theories before, now there are more than twice as many. It’s not so much that the premise of the show has changed, more like the sudden revelation that seasons 1-3 were just the introduction of Lost, setting up the characters and factions. The grander scheme of events is on the horizon. The people on the frieghter went to a lot of effort to locate the island, it must hold plently more secrets. So a boring flashback of Jacks. That is until we realise it’s a flash-foward. So they do get of the island! But it doesn’t seem like it was the best outcome after-all. Do they all make it off? If so, at what cost? Kate seems better off than Jack, but how did she escape her past as a murderer? Who was in the coffin that only Jack would be concerned about? And Christian Shepard, alive? So many of the events are open to interpretation. This is why it’s to hard to summarise this episode, and why I’m avoiding this. Head onto the forums and join in the discussion. We haven’t seen this much activity in months and it gives me great hope for seasons 4, 5 and 6. Before I sign off I will have my personal indulgence and say the best bit of the entire thing was Hurley rocketing out of the jungle in the VW, mowing down Others. I felt so sad for him being turned down twice for offering his help, it was a brilliant moment to see him be the real hero!
