Is Michael really dead?

ABC have just released several promo pictures of the cast members all dolled up and looking pretty. Interestingly though, Michael is also one of the posers. What could this mean? Were the pictures taken before the actor knew he was being killed off? Harold Pirenneau made it quite public his distaste for being offed in the way he was, I don’t think he would agree to pose for photos as part of a red-herring for the public. Or were his comments the red herring? Have we been lead to believe he won’t be returning just so that it’s a big shocker come January?

Personally I’d just place my bets on the photos being taken a while ago. But who knows eh? This is Lost after all!

Minor Spoilers for 5×01

Just a few spoilers, courtesy of DocArtz, about the first episode of season 5. Beware spoilers and heavy speculation after the jump…According to rumours/wild speculation, the first episode of Season 5 will take place in three different time periods, which would follow on from what Lost producers said at Comic Con last week about more episodes like Ji Yeon, where we were seeing Jin in a flashback and Sun in a flashforward.

Also good new for the ladies (and some of the gents), it seems Josh Holloway (Sawyer) will be spending at least the first few episodes still shirtless.

It’s Comic-Con time again!

Every year Lost has been running, the producers and (sometimes!) actors have shown up at Comic-Con to host a 1 hour panel discussing the previous season of the show, clearing up some of the questions since the finale and they always give us a sneak peak into the future of the show.

Last year Damon and Carlton previewed a video of a mysterious Dharma station named “The Orchid” - which featured heavilly in the Season 4 finale… nearly 10 months later! They also broke the news that Harold Perrineau (Michael) would be returning to the show, only to kill him off… 10 months later!

Yesterday Lost executive producer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and show-runner Carlton Cuse took part in a “TV Showrunners” panel along with Chuck’s Josh Schwartz, Pushing Daisies’ Bryan Fuller, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ Josh Friedman, you can read more about what they had to say by clicking the link below.

“Cake is the character in the show while the mythology is the frosting,” explained Lost’s Carlton Cuse. He was joined on EW’s “The Visionaries: TV Showrunners” panel (moderated by EW’s Jeff Jensen) by his fellow EP Damon Lindelof.

Cuse said that Lost would be stripped of its power if he and Lindelof tried to incorporate more exposition about, say, the origin of the smoke monster — which is why we’ll probably never hear Jack and Kate talk in great detail about it. The other producers nodded in agreement. “We need to keep you in awe,” Fuller added. “If you talk about it, it’s not so much fun.”

In other highlights, Cuse admitted that he misses Mr. Eko (the actor who played the role on Lost, the London-based Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, didn’t like living in Hawaii).

Lindelof said that his favorite show is Dexter. And Cuse didn’t rule out the possibility of someday continuing Lost on the Internet once it has completed its run on ABC. “Maybe we can do the zombie season of Lost,” said Cuse.

Season 4 UK DVD Release Date

The UK Edition of “Lost: The Complete Fourth Season - The Expanded Experience” will hit UK shores on the 27th of October, 2008. A month a half before the American release!
Amazon UK are also advertising a UK Blu-Ray edition of the release, which would be the first time Lost has been released in the UK on Blu-Ray.

There has not been a full press release with all correct extras released yet, only the working titles posted earlier in the year.

Not for a while. So much to take in, to process. For now, just a list of my immediate reactions:

Brilliant opener.
Sawyer, we love you.
Jin, NOOOOOOOO! (I’ll need to see a body to believe it)
The Island really did, literally move. And it looked fantastic.
Penny and Desmond. A happy ending I didn’t expect.
Locke! Why was he off the island? Why did he use another name?
Sun, moving to the dark side (or is Widmore really the good guy?)

So much to say on the finale. I’ll have to watch it a few more times to be able to write anything worth writing.

Now we begin the long, long wait for Season 5.

Sky One Lost Catchup

For anyone that may have missed any recent episodes of Lost, Sky One are showing the episodes from 4×09 all the way through to the season 4 finale, back to back from 2pm on Sunday 1st June.

So that’s everyone’s Sunday afternoon, evening and night planned then, yes?
